Warrior confirms Guineas plans
14 Aug 2017Lightly-raced three-year-old Inca Warrior has booked himself a trip to the central districts for an early season black type test.

The Goodwood Stud graduate confirmed his immediate future when he opened his account against older opposition at Te Aroha on Sunday.

Inca Warrior’s success wasn’t unexpected as he had placed in his previous two runs behind talented gallopers Getty and Socially Excited at Te Rapa and Matamata respectively.

“His last couple of runs were very good and his work had been outstanding so we went in with a,lot of confidence,” trainer Steven Cole said.

“We’ll head down to the Wanganui Guineas with him now.”

A son of Per Incanto, Inca Warrior is out of the winning Keeper mare Playing For Keeps and the family of the Gr.3 Taranaki Cup winner Zafar.

The gelding was purchased out of Goodwood Stud’s 2016 Select Sale draft at Karaka by Cole for $70,000.
