Barbaric in record-breaking form
07 Nov 2015Barbaric completed a rewarding day for Goodwood Stud with his blistering win at Te Rapa this afternoon.
The son of Pins broke the 1200 metre track record when he sizzled to victory in the Listed Legacy Lodge Sprint.
The seven-year-old came with an undeniable finish to take top honour and provide apprentice rider Lee Magorrian with his first stakes success.
Bred and raced by Goodwood, his performance followed farm graduate Serena Miss’ third placing in the Gr 1 2000 Guineas at Riccarton.
Barbaric is trained by Stephen Marsh, who had the winning polish on the gelding in his first start for three months.
He has now been successful in eight of his 24 starts with four victories posted on the Hamilton course.
Barbaric is out of Burnzees Magic and from the famed Fell family of Silver Liner, Petrava and Hoeberg.
