HK-bound 3YO signs off in style
31 Oct 2015Stationery World retained his unbeaten three-year-old record to bid farewell to New Zealand racing in style at Tauranga this afternoon

“He’s off to Hong Kong now, he’s done his job,” trainer Graham Richardson said of the Goodwood Stud graduate.

A half-brother by Thewayyouare to the Group One performer Allez Eagle, Stationery World is unbeaten in two appearances this term after finishing sixth behind the subsequent Group One performer Rocanto in his only juvenile outing.

“He jarred up after that first run and we gelded him and he’s really grown and stretched out since,” Richardson said. “He’s off to where the money is now.”

A Taupo maiden winner earlier this month, Stationery World raced outside the leader to the turn before cruising clear.

“He was pretty impressive last time and today he’s settled well again and quickened nicely off the turn,” rider Craig Grylls said.

“He ran to the line genuinely and he’s a very nice horse in the making.”

A son of the winning Volksraad mare Alleyrun, Stationery World was bought out of Goodwood’s Select Sale draft at Karaka last year for $150,000.
