Goodwood gets Nom Du Jeu off the mark
02 Mar 2015Millau capped off an excellent weekend for Goodwood Stud with a milestone victory in Victoria yesterday.
The farm graduate provided Group One winner Nom Du Jeu with his stallion success when he scored at Sale.
Goodwood graduates have been in hot form in recent weeks and Millau’s win followed Iffwedance’s domestic victory at Hastings on Saturday.
From the first crop of the Montjeu sire Nom Du Jeu, Millau is trained at Caulfield by Colin Little.
The three-year-old had been unplaced in his first two runs, but up to 1400 metres on Sunday he showed his true worth.
Millau was purchased by Little for $80,000 out of Goowood’s Select Sale line-up at Karaka in 2013.
He is a son of the winning Zabeel mare Recollection, a sister to the stakes winner Etoile Du Nord.
