Pentathlon adds to family record
27 Dec 2014A family John Wheeler has done so well with again came up trumps for the New Plymouth trainer his home meeting today.
Goodwood Stud graduate Pentathlon turned his form around at the Pukekura Raceway to open his account.

The Pentire colt appreciated the step up to 1800 metres to post a convincing victory in the hands of Hayden Tinsley.

Wheeler purchased Pentathlon out of Goodwood’s Select Sale draft to Karaka last year for $85,000.

He is a son of the Prized mare Pinder’s Prize and a family that has made its mark in Australia.

Wheeler has played a major role in that and trained Pentathlon’s relatives Pentathon and Lottery Prize.

The former won the O’Shea Stakes and the New Zealand Cup at Group Two level while Lottery Prize was Group One placed in the Queensland Derby.
