Jetset Lad’s winning habit continues
01 Sep 2014Goodwood Stud graduate Jetset Lad has continued his outstanding run of form from his new quarters.
A change of environment has worked wonders for the former Taranaki galloper, who has now won at his last two starts for Eagle Farm trainer Brian Smith.
Jetset Lad has collected $A82,500 from consecutive Doomben successes, the latest of them in an open sprint on Saturday.
A son of Elusive City, he began his career with John Wheeler and made his mark at the top level for the New Plymouth horseman.
He won five races and was a runner-up in the Gr 1 Railway Stakes before joining Smith’s stable this year.
Jetset Lad is out of the winning Jetball mare Jetset Lass and is from the family of Perlin (Gr 1 Underwood Stakes, Gr 1 Doomben Cup).
Goodwood was also represented at Doomben on Saturday by Lee Ho Fook, who finished a close second over 2100 metres.
A stablemate of Jetset Lad, the Savabeel gelding has won three races and now placed a further eight times from 21 career appearances.
