Classic-bound filly set to resume
13 Aug 2014Goodwood Stud graduate Dream Run is on target to open her classic campaign at Taupo next Wednesday.

A smart debut winner last season, a recent trial placing confirmed she was ready to resume over 1100 metres.

“What she did as a two-year-old was on sheer ability and we put no pressure on her to get to Matamata,” co-trainer Paul Shailer said..

“She was always going to go out after that to concentrate on her three-year-old campaign.

“She trialled up well and she’ll kick off at Taupo and four weeks later on to the Gold Trail Stakes.

Hopefully, we can then press on toward Christchurch for the Guineas.”

Dream Run is a daughter of Pins and the Redoute’s Choice mare Run Brony Run from the successful stallion family of Encosta de Lago, Flying Spur and Holy Roman Emperor.

“She’s quite a big, raw-boned filly and she’s going to keep improving with time,” Shailer said.

Dream Run was sold by Goodwood, who have retained an interest in the filly, for $100,000 at Karaka last year.
