Pre-Race Fears Unfounded
26 Oct 2013James Taylor’s pre-race concerns with Godzila Girl at Trentham proved groundless after the mare opened her account in grand style.
“I was a bit worried about the track today, but she’s coped with it just fine,” the Awapuni trainer said.
Godzila Girl struck at the third time of asking with a strong finishing run along the fence to score in the hands of Mark Du Plessis.
A Goodwood Stud graduate, the four-year-old is a daughter of former farm resident Chinese Dragon and the Oregon mare Maplewood.
The dam is a half-sister to the Listed Castletown Stakes winner Pearly Spencer.
It is also the family of the Gr 1 Railway and Telegraph Handicaps winner Bawalaksana and the Gr 1 Oakleigh Plate winner Alrello.
